Harry Potter is twelve and in his second year at Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. He is facing troubles in the non-magical world during the summer. He lives with his aunt, uncle, and cousin. Harry’s aunt and uncle lock him in his room with metal bars on his window for the summer. Luckily, Harry’s best friend, Ron Weasley, drives a flying, magical car up to his widow and rescues Harry. He brings him back to his house, the Burrow. Harry and Ron are not able to get to the Hogwarts by train so they take the flying car instead.
Their new teacher, Gilderoy Lockhart, who teaches Defense Against the Dark Arts, is terrible. Lockhart’s lessons are a joke because he is so full of himself. Later in the year, someone writes with blood that The Chamber of Secrets has been opened and that everyone is in danger.
This book is one of my favorite books in the Harry Potter series. I like the elements of mystery and how the reader wants to know what happens next. I highly recommend this book
