Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, by J.K Rowling, is the first book in the Harry Potter series, which has sold over 400 million copies worldwide. Harry Potter is a boy whose parents were murdered by the dark sorcerer Voldemort.  Voldemort also tried to kill Harry but failed when his spell rebounded and hit him instead. Harry is miserable living with his aunt, uncle, and cousin until he gets a letter from Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry, and realizes that there is a whole world of magic. He quickly finds out that he is very famous in the wizarding world because he is the only person to survive the killing curse. Harry takes the train and meets his two best friends, Ron and Hermione. All three are put into the house of Gryffindor.  They discover a secret that the school is trying to hide from the students. I liked this book because of the adventures Harry and his friends have. I also like the magical world the author creates.
