An assignment in seventh-grade history class this year was to write on an important topic in American History. I chose to write on Pearl Harbor because it was crucial to world events. It led America into World War II. I had heard the name “Pearl Harbor” before, but I didn’t really know what happened until I researched it. I was most intrigued by how the Japanese surprised the Americans and by how the United States learned that it had to enter into world allies. I also made a large painting of the Hawaiian naval base with watercolors. I enjoyed this because it was creative and a lot of fun to make.
